Neurotoxicity of pesticides

Dear Commissioner Kyriakides,

With this letter, we would like to express our concerns regarding the regulation of neurotoxic pesticides in the EU and request upon you to take action. Pesticides-related neurological diseases are rising in the EU (Parkinson's, autism, etc.), and specialists have raised alarms of an upcoming “Parkinson's epidemic”1 . At the same time, scientific knowledge is evolving rapidly and therefore regulatory actions on the side of the Commission are urgent.

Yes to the Green Deal. No to the suspension of the CAP's environmental requirements

Dear President of the European Commission Ms. Ursula von der Leyen,

we, the below-mentioned organisations, are writing to you to ask to ensure a proper implementation of the Green Deal objectives and to maintain the high level of ambition, as presented to citizens in the beginning of your mandate. We particularly ask you to reject any additional request 1 to derogate to environmental requirements provided by the Common Agriculture Policy Regulation (EU) 2021/ 2115, as was done in 2022 and 2023.

Reaction to EPP’s withdrawal from the democratic negotiation process of the Nature Restoration Law: a People’s Party?

Dear members of the European People’s Party,

We write to you to express our deepest concerns regarding your announcement to withdraw from the negotiations on the planned Nature Restoration Law (NRL). The core values of EPP show understanding of the need to safeguard nature and “to transmit the beauty of the world” to protect human well-being.

Request for a meeting on New Genomic Techniques: Time to shift to evidence-based decision making for sustainable food systems and nature

Dear Executive Vice-President,

As Executive Vice-President for the European Green Deal we, the undersigned 300+ organisations, call on you to intervene and prevent the far-reaching deregulation of new genomic techniques at the expense of nature and the climate, and of farmers’ and consumers’ rights. We note with great concern that arguments in favour of deregulating new genomic techniques (NGTs) are often put forward without relevant evidence by DG Sante, especially when it comes to sustainability claims.
