Welcome to the PAN Europe IP farmer of the year award!

This year Pesticide Action Network Europe is launching a new competition to find trail blazing farmers who are promoting biodiversity through integrated production farming methods.

Each year we envisage investigating a different aspect of farming and biodiversity. This year we are proudly launching our competition in collaboration with European Beekeeping Coordination.

We are inviting both nominated and self-selecting entries from across Europe and hope that we can show innovative and inspirational methods being used by farmers to protect the precious bee populations of Europe. We want to give these farmers the opportunity to tell their stories and give them the recognition they deserve.

The competition was successfully launched at a huge PAN Europe exhibition and debate event on IP at the EESC during the Week Without Pesticides, March 25th 2010.

We hope that farmers from across the breadth of Europe will enter the competition to showcase their business. We want to hear from you if you have innovative stories about your farming practices that we can help give recognition to.

We hope that many PAN Europe members, supporters and other organisations will promote taking part in the competition as creatively as possible – through the farming press, events, newsletters, farmers markets etc.
